chapter 3.
the second agreement: dont take anything personally
'what causes you to be trapped is what we call personal importance. personal importance, or taking things personally, is the maximum expression of selfishness because we make the assumption that everything is about "me." nothing other people do is because of you. it is because of themselves.' p.48
'even the opinions you have about yourself are not necessarily true; therefore, you dont need to take what you hear in your mind personally.' p.54
'the mitote (mind fog, illusion, a dream where a thousand people talk at the same time, and nobody understands each other) is the reason humans hardly know what they want, how they want it, or when they want it. they dont agree with themselves beacause there are parts of the mind that want one thing, and other parts that want exactly the opposite.' p.56
'someone can intentionally send emotional poison, and if you dont take it personally, you will not eat it. when you dont take the emotional poison, it becomes even worse in the sender, but not in you.' p.59
'you are never responsible for the actions of others; you are only responsible for you.' p.60
