"you are not above the charity of God"
"why would i forsake the riches of God's righteousness for the dung of my own ego?"

"self discipline will never make us feel righteous or clean; accepting God's love will. The ability to accept God's unconditional grace and ferocious love is all the fuel we need to obey Him in return. Accepting God's kindness and free love is something the devil does not want us to do. if we hear, in our inner ear, a voice saying we are failures, we are losers, we will never amount to anything, this the voice of Satan trying to convince the bride that the groom does not love her. This is not the voice of God. God woos us with kindness, He changes our character with the passion of His love.

our behavior will not be changed long with self discipline, but fall in love and a human will accomplish what he never thought possible. by accepting God's love for us we will fall in love with Him, and only then do we have the fuel we need to obey. in exchange for our humility and willingness to accept the charity of God, we are given a kingdom. and a begger's kingdom is better than a proud man's delusion"

Everyone uses self discipline, no matter if it is acknowledged or not. self discipline is necessesary to feel that love for and with God because we need self discipline to get out of bed in the morning, we need it to eat so that we can stay alive and help all gods creatures, we need it to meditate and pray, we need it to do whatever we do. self discipline doesnt mean that we are hard on ourseleves, its just a fact that we have ourselves do things because we know they are best for us and in doing them we are exercising self discipline. But if one is doing something, and they feel God's love, but do not know or aknowledge that they are harming Gods creatures, other people and animals, by their actions, then how can they fully step into the light of God? They must then use self discipline, so that they can identify where and how they are hurting Gods Creatures, and change that part of them that is doing so, for how can one truly love God and hurt one of Gods creatures at the same time, either intentionally or unintentionally? Such is the doing of us through ignorance, and we have the capacity to change our ignorance through self discipline as well, by changing what we are doing. And then there are those who say "well, we arent perfect you know" ... such is an excuse for not wanting to change what they are doing. We can always make a better choice, espiecially when we know what the better choices are. To ignore that is to not progress, and to not progress is to not do what God is calling us to do, and thus we are not actually fully stepping into the light of Gods being, if we said we were, without making the changes that we know we could do, or without researching any changes that we do not know of at the moment, would be lying.
